Christ of Good Hope
On the wall above the tabernacle hangs the painting Christ of Good Hope (by the Spanish artist Gonzala Nunez, 1873). The painting explores the theme of Divine Grace. The theme of ransoming an enchained prisoner reminds us of the Lord’s boundless generosity and grace, which absolves and pardons all sins. The gilded silver frame was made in 1899, in the workshop of Marian Niewiadomski in Vilnius. It was mounted as a token of gratitude by believers, a votive offering for grace.
