Plaque commemorating the visit to Lithuania by Pope John Paul II
The Holy Father John Paul II (1920–2005) made an apostolic visit to Lithuania in the 15th year of his pontificate. The 264th Vicar of Christ in the history of the Church, he was the first Pope ever to do so. A white marble plaque was put up to commemorate this event. It shows a medallion with a bas-relief of the Pope, the papal coat of arms, and an inscription in gilded letters.
